Key Stakeholders:
The Rugby Football Union (RFU) is the governing body for grassroots and elite rugby in England, with 2,000 rugby clubs in its membership. Its income is made up of funding from sponsorship, government, ticket sales, merchandising, hospitality and catering, a hotel, travel and leisure companies and TV rights.
Twickenham Experience Ltd (TEL) is the RFU’s joint venture with Compass Group Plc, which manages and operates all match day catering, hospitality and bar services as well as non-match day catering, conference and event management services at Twickenham Stadium.
Keith Prowse (KP) is TEL’s official match day hospitality sales partner and has the responsibility for hospitality sales within the stadium.
England Rugby Hospitality (ERH) is the entity being set up by the RFU and supported by KP that sits within TEL to market and sell all match day hospitality within Twickenham Stadium ( including the new east stand )from 2018/19, to include all Boxes (2000 guests) and all Suites ( c 8655 guests).
Nature and Scope:
A unique opportunity is available for an innovative and experienced Credit Controller to join Keith Prowse for ERH, to support the exciting new developments at Twickenham stadium.
This role would suit a very organised, proactive and driven Credit Controller who would like the opportunity to build and develop a new operation within the sports hospitality sector.
The main focus of the role is to ensure that all payment for hospitality sales is collected prior to an event and in line with Keith Prowse/ERH standard terms and conditions. All issues raised should be reported as soon as they arise liaising with the relevant sales person and following through to a conclusion where possible and escalated to your line manager when necessary. Cash collection should be forecast effectively based on promises to pay.
Accountabilities:
- Contacting all customers on a regular basis for events assigned to you to ensure that all invoices have been received and logging promises to pay
- Following up on all broken promises as soon as they arise
- Liaising with the sales person responsible for any bookings that are queried by the customer ensuring all queries are resolved
- Working with Operations to ensure no packs are sent out unless paid or authorised by a member of the management team
- Liaison with stakeholder finance colleagues to ensure that all payments received are allocated correctly within 24 hours
- Following up any outstanding debt post event to ensure all outstanding issues are resolved and extra’s purchased are paid
- Any other adhoc duties
- Actively collaborate with ERH, RFU & KP colleagues to contribute to the development and delivery of strategic, business and operational plans
- Act as an ambassador for, and promote the best interests of ERH, RFU & KP at all times, including the promotion of the Core Values
- Undertake such other duties as maybe required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and the needs of the organisation
Person Specification
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Personal Attributes:
- Have proficient use of IT packages including Microsoft Office, Excel and email. Knowledge of SAP would be useful
- Displays a pro-active, “can-do” attitude
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both orally and in writing. Competent English language speaker
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload
- Structured and organised approach, with a good eye for detail
- Team player, also comfortably able to work on own initiative
